Welcome

Department of Engineering Design, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, under the aegis of Association for Machines and Mechanisms (AMM) and the International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM) is pleased to welcome you to the 8th International Workshop on Computational Kinematics (CK2025) to be held at IIT Madras during November 25th to 28th, 2025.

About the Conference

Computational Kinematics workshop is the flagship event of the IFToMM Technical Committee on Computational Kinematics, which brings together the experts and enthusiasts working in this field every four years. Started in 1993 at Schloss Dagstuhl, the workshop has previously been held at Sophia Antipolis (1995), Seoul (2001), Cassino (2005), Duisburg (2009), Barcelona (2013), and Poitiers (2017). The 2021 session was missed due to the global pandemic. The 8th edition of the workshop is being organised by the Association for Machines and Mechanisms (AMM), the Indian member organisation (MO) of IFToMM, and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, at Chennai, India. The workshop would be organised in single session mode, providing ample time and opportunity for the researchers to not just present their latest research but also to interact freely. In addition, some special lectures have been planned.

About Association for Machines and Mechanisms and IFToMM

The Association for Machines and Mechanisms, is the Indian MO of IFToMM, an international body of about fifty member nations. India was one of the thirteen founding members when IFToMM came into being in the year 1969. The national body of AMM was founded in 1984. The main objective of AMM is to contribute to mechanical design at all levels starting from academic research to industrial initiatives, thereby enhancing the quality and reliability of indigenous machines. With this in view, AMM organises the International Conference on Machines and Mechanisms, iNaCoMM, and the workshop, Industrial Problems on Machines and Mechanisms, IPRoMM, in alternate years.
